About

Hello!  My name is Jana Jopson and I am an instructional designer, message mentor, mixed-media artist, life coach, and student of the Slow Movement*.  I am a strategic, creative, and intuitive thinker, proficient at long-distance collaboration.

I have more than 25 years experience in the field of instructional design and have created materials for The Discovery Channel, The Coca-Cola Company, Levi Strauss International, AT&T South, IBM and others.

After many years working in the corporate sector, I gradually made the transition to working as a ‘free agent’ (thank you, Dan Pink, author of ‘Free Agent Nation’) in service to entrepreneurs who are passionate about making the world a better place.  It’s been my pleasure to collaborate with these, and other, small business owners:

  • an Investment Advisor who wanted to expand her message of financial literacy for women by developing an interactive seminar;
  • a Career Strategist who wanted to convert the manual she’d written to an e-book to spread the good news to professionals in transition that there’s life after layoffs;
  • the Education Director of a life coaching program who wanted to integrate a greater variety of media and interactivity into her training materials to enhance their value;
  • a Self-Image Consultant who wanted to create a self-study workbook for her customers so they could experience the magic of a happy wardrobe.
  • an Environmental Consultancy who wanted to communicate their company’s expertise in ecotourism with conceptual graphics, photographs, and eye-catching layouts.

My pioneering work brings together the systematic principles of designing effective instruction with the inspirational tools of life coaching.  This helps ensure that the message transfer takes place from you to your materials and from your materials to your awaiting clients and audience.

It’s a fun and engaging process that I am privileged and delighted to participate in across a diverse range of subject matter with wonderful people.
